These Three Things

There are three things that we can always count on out of God. He is always there. He cares about us. He is a giver. This is a good blueprint for living our lives. None of us can be successful in any endeavor if we are not there, if we don’t care and if we don’t give.

There is a saying. “Availability is more important than ability.”

Whatever we do, whoever we help, we must be there to do it. Physically be there. And we must bring our minds and souls with us. Our physical tools cannot be used if we are in bed when a task must be done. Our physical tools mean nothing if we are not mentally committed to using them properly. When we put our souls into it there is a great chance that the potential goal will be reached or exceeded. That the people we want to help get the aid that they need.

Be there.

Caring is important because it makes us love those whom we try to help, work hard at achieving goals and strive to make our communities better. When we care about people, we are more attentive to their well-being. We are more kind to them. When we care about our work, we are willing to put the time and effort into doing it well. When we care about our communities, we look for ways to make them better.

Care.

When we give of our time, our talents and our gifts then we are truly doing God’s work.

Time is the only thing any of us are given when we are born. How much we are given none of us know. It is up to us to use our time wisely and give it to others as much as we can. Really, besides love there is no greater gift that we can give someone than spending time with them.

When we use our talents to give to others it shows our love as well. How many artists have given us pictures that have brought us joy? How many musicians have written songs? How many teachers have passed on their knowledge? Let’s not forget the farmers, builders, inventors. Too many talented people to name.

All of us receive gifts from God. Some of us receive a lot. Some little. But all of us can give something of what we have to others. Gifts can come in many ways and forms. Monetary and material. When we share them with others it leads to blessings for all.

Give.

Be there. Care. Give.

It’s what God does for us every day of our lives. It is a way that all of us can reflect His love.
